Get excited!! The Thicket is hosting a picnic for thick folks (a Thicknic) on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 12-4pm!

The Thicknic is a community-centered gathering celebrating size inclusivity, joy, and connection. We're excited to offer a large clothing swap as well as a market of pop-up vendors offering vintage, handmade, and thoughtfully curated goods that align with The Thicket's values centering on creating a loving, safe space for bigger-bodied individuals.

This event is open to the public with FREE public parking at Wawecas Elementary School across Burncoat Street.

Attendees interested in participating with the clothing swap will be asked to pay sliding scale admission to the swap tent ($8-$15). Have no clothes to swap? That's okay, we will start the swap with piles that The Thicket has spent the last few months collecting! Simply pay your admission and come through. Have no room for more clothes? Anyone interested in simply dropping off clothes for the event is also welcome to do this, no charge.
